Bonneville County Sheriff's Office

Back Country Patrol

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office has five deputies that are assigned to the Back Country Patrol. One of the five is primarily assigned to cover waterways and enforcement of waterways laws. The other four deputies cover the hundreds of miles of back roads, and trails. They have specialty training in off road vehicles such as four wheelers, motorbikes and snowmobiles. They are also trained as first responders or EMTs. They are called for service regularly for providing medical assistance and rescues of individuals who are injured or lost in the mountainous regions of Bonneville County. To assist in these search and rescues we call for assistance of the Bonneville County Search and Rescue Team. This team is made up of approximately 32 people specially trained in all aspects of mountain and water rescue.
