Law Enforcement Explorer Post 117

Law Enforcement Explorer

The Bonneville County Law Enforcement Explorer Post 117 was organized in May of 1981 to offer young men and women of the community an insight into the field of law enforcement as a possible career. The Post provides an opportunity for interested persons to work closely with law enforcement officers both in the classroom and in the field.

The Law Enforcement Explorer Post is a self-governing organization which elects its own officers i.e., President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. It is chartered through the Boy Scouts of America and is sponsored by the Bonneville County Sheriff's Department. Adult leadership is provided by a Post Advisor, appointed by the Sheriff, who coordinates and approves all lectures, training, and Post activities. The Post Advisor selects several Assistant Advisors, from the ranks of the Sheriff's Office, Sheriff's Reserve, County Commissioners, and parents of the Explorers to assist him/her.
